Christian Special Religious Education (SRE) is delivered on Wednesdays from 11:30am - 11:55am.
On enrolment at the school, parents/carers will be given the SRE participation letter to complete and return. After the initial enrolment, notification of changes to a child's enrolment in SRE should be given to the office in writing.
Combined Christian SRE is provided by teachers who are authorised and trained by their approved providers. This may include teachers/helpers from the Anglican, Baptist, C3, or Presbyterian Churches.
Our current teachers are approved by the Anglican Diocese of Sydney and the Presbyterian Church of Australia (NSW). The SRE curriculum used in this school is produced by Christian Education Publications (CEP) and is approved by each SRE provider. The curriculum explores the good news about Jesus Christ found in the Bible and the depth of God’s love for people. The material is modified to meet the needs of the students. The lesson time includes songs, prayer, stories from the Bible, and a craft activity. The curriculum can be viewed at whysre.com.au.
If you would like another SRE program for your child to participate in at Karonga School, it is the parents responsibility to find an approved provider and make a request to the school.
