The Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) is a not-for-profit organisation run by a group of volunteers, whose primary role is to assist the school and promote the interests of the entire school community. Members work in close partnership with the school to achieve the best possible outcomes for students and other stakeholders in the school community.
Meeting details
Regular meetings are held and we extend an open invitiation to the whole school community to attend:
- Location: PL room (located to your left as you enter the gate on the left hand side of Maxi’s playground, or as you walk to the pool). Attendance can also be via zoom for those unable to attend in person.
- Date: Every third Wednesday (during school term)
- Start time: 6:45pm
These meetings are relaxed and friendly. Tea/coffee and light snacks available.
Parents and friends who attend these meetings can:
- Have a voice in how the P&C and school operate.
- Discuss initiatives that will benefit students and improve their school experience.
- Build friendships with other families in the school community.
- Share ideas and tips such as various services available in the wider community.
School bus service
The P&C owns several buses, some of which are modified to accommodate wheelchairs. We employ several drivers who operate the morning and afternoon school runs as contractors under the Assisted School Travel Program. These buses also provide students access to outings, offering Karonga students valuable experiences outside the school.
The Transport Manager oversees the daily transport operations and ensures ongoing sustainability of transport operations for the long term benefit of the P&C .
